About Virtual Apple ][
Virtual Apple ][ is a site which will take you back to the 1980's through its collection of more than 1250 game disks online.  Play and enjoy old Apple ][ (Apple2) and Apple IIgs games and other disks through your Internet web browser. You will find games like Oregon Trail and Number Munchers which many of you played as kids, as well as games like Tetris, Battle Chess, Leisure Suit Larry, Choplifter, Archon II and Kings Quest.

This web site currently uses an ActiveX application and Apple IIgs emulator to automatically download and play most Apple 2 and Apple IIgs disk images online. To play a game, just select the disk from the menu and click on Yes to automatically download the ActiveX emulator and disk images in Internet Explorer and click on Install Add-Ons when prompted in Mozilla's Firefox Browser.

Note: Requires Windows and either Mozilla Firefox Or Microsoft Internet Explorer.  This site is completely spyware free and usage of the emulator is completely free!

Mac OS X Intel based machine users can use the Parallels Desktop for Mac or download the Virtual ][ emulator and the individual disks.  We recommend this emulator due to the amount of development that has gone into the program.  We also will soon be offering a complete download package of all disks.  We also are expecting a Mac OS X compatible version of the emulator sometime soon.

About the emulator
Virtual Apple ][ runs on an ActiveX port of the Kegs Apple IIgs emulator originally written by Kent Dickey. Thanks to the wonderful work of the FTA and Oliver Goguel, anyone can now easily access and relive a golden era of computer history and Apple II forever!  Oliver is now working on a Mac OS X version which will be available at a later date.

Info
While there are currently over 1250 disk images archived on the web site, we still are adding more all the time.. We are currently in the process of collecting specific program documentation and box cover images as well as any other information about the games. If you would like to contribute items to the database such as game descriptions, soft docs, manuals, hints, articles, or pictures then  post them to out support board or contact us, and we'll put them online.
